I am responding to the letter "Malay among top four spoken languages". I doubt our minister has conveyed the right information to the Rakyat (citizen).

it's funny how the minister dare to say : Malay is the top four widely spoken language in the world!!
i wonder how he got his position in the politics
zzz... dun take me wrong... i didnt say chinese wont get ahead of english... i am juz saying English should, more appropriately, be rated as spoken worldwide. At least for the time being and a few decades to come.
dun worry about what the minister said. It's not of our business when they are attempting to embarrass themselves =DDD
darryl : thats how he got the votes. LOL!

Sorry but you really need to check your numbers only in europe you have 80 millions people who speak french and in 2007 the official number said 200 millions and 400 millions who are able to speak in french so it's 600 millions. If you don't beleive me look at that and these numbers are from 2006...

i think you have misunderstood the figures above.. the numbers which i provided is only applicable for native speakers... while yours table has included the secondary speakers.. that's why your total figures almost overshoot the world population..
wats bangali.... never heard bout it.... how can it b the 7th most spoken language
cause of the huge population in bangladesh and east india..
